Summer language camps for Kharkiv pupils will be reopened in 2016, stated the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science of Kharkiv Regional State Administration (KRSA) Vladimir Ignatyev at a meeting of the regional headquarters for recreation and health of children.
“This year by order of the Ministry of Education and Science in the Kharkiv region was organized work of the language camps for the first time. In June 2015 on the basis of 141 general educational establishments operated 151 summer language camps including 104 English-speaking, 22 German-speaking, 6 French-speaking, 2 English-German speaking, 7 English-French speaking camps and others,” said Vladimir Ignatiev.
According to him, 4225 pupils of Kharkiv region managed not only to relax but also to improve their language skills in the summer camps. The children were taught by teachers, volunteers, 137 students of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, Kharkiv Academy of Humanities and Education, and 89 volunteers of other organizations.
Vladimir Ignatyev noticed that language camps will continue their work in 2016.
“Language camps remain of current interest in light of the fact that one of the subjects of the external independent testing of knowledge – foreign languages,” said the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science of KRSA.
