The law enforcement agencies of the Kharkiv region were transferred into heavy security because of the threat of terrorist acts. The head of the Kharkiv police Anatoly Dmitriev signed an order about the transfer of all the law enforcement agencies into heavy security.
“In connection with a series of recent terrorist attacks in Europe, the activation of the militants in eastern Ukraine, unfortunately, the probability of a terrorist threat in the territory of the Kharkiv region has increased. Therefore, all the law enforcement agencies of the Kharkiv region have been transferred into a heavy security,” said the deputy chief of the preventive action of the Main Administration of the National Police in the Kharkiv region Stanislav Koval.
The number of police patrol was increased and a rapid action team who keeps sentry around-the-clock was created to tighten public security in Kharkiv. In particular, the key infrastructures were put under increased security such as airports, railway stations, bus stations, underground, principal roads and bridges of national standing, objects of military-industrial complex, diplomatic institutions and mass gathering places.
According to the order, an operational headquarters was also created and launched in the region which receives all messages about the operational situation in the region.
Kharkiv police call to be sympathetic to the verification of documents, inspection of the personals, transport and other precautions on the part of law enforcement officers. The police ask to report immediately about suspicious objects or people by the phone 102.
Also in connection with the terrorist attacks in France and tightening of security measures in Ukraine, in order to protect the customs interests and maintain customs security in the country, customs control on the checkpoints across the state border was strengthen, informed the press service of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
